Thassos
Thassos is considered a quiet choice for tourism, while the popularity of the island is growing year by year. The island has an area of 380.1 km² and can be easily toured by car in about 1 ½ hour. The highest mountain of Thassos is Ypsario, with a height of 1,205 m., and is an attractive attraction for hikers, climbers and mountain bikers.
About 13500 people live permanently in Thassos. Kindergartens, medical care centers, schools and other important facilities with modern infrastructure are available.

The easiest way to get to Thassos is through Kavala airport or Thessaloniki airport. From Keramoti (just a few minutes from Kavala airport) you can take the ferry to Thassos. So the mainland is not far away and getting there and back is quite easy. With a little luck you can spot dolphins on your way or feed the seagulls that accompany the ship.
